His focuses on helping individual's develop greater emotional awareness, process unresolved trauma, navigate relationships with confidence, and cultivate a deeper sense of self-compassion and purpose. By incorporating experiential approaches like Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy into his practice, Sean empowers individuals to break free from long standing emotional struggles and reclaim a sense of internal harmony.

Sean seeks to create a therapeutic space that is safe, non-judgmental, and engaging, where clients can explore their experience and emotions with honesty and openness. His down-to-earth, realistic approach to therapy is complemented by a healthy sense of humour, which helps clients feel at ease and fosters a sense of connection.  He believes in striking a balance between deep psychological work and practical, actionable strategies, ensuring that clients feel both supported and empowered as they move forward in their therapeutic journey.  Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy is central to his approach, allowing clients to gain deeper insight into their internal dynamics and foster lasting emotional growth.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy

One of Sean’s core passions is Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy.  This transformative modality approach allows clients to develop a compassionate understanding of their inner world, fostering internal harmony and integration among different parts of an individual’s psyche.  By working to explore their system, one can be freed from limiting patterns, resolve internal conflicts, and access their natural capacity for self-leadership and emotional balance.

Sean completed IFS L1 Training in Melbourne/Sydney in 2018, IFS L2 Training in Melbourne/Sydney in 2019/2020, and has completed IFS L3 Training twice through IFS Portugal in 2021 and 2024. He has witnessed the profound impact that Internal Family Systems (IFS) can have in helping clients recover from past challenging experiences, navigate relationships with greater ease, and develop a deeper sense of inner peace.  By providing Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy and Supervision/Consultation both in Melbourne, online Australia-wide and internationally, Sean continues to expand the reach of IFS, ensuring that more clients and supervisees alike benefit from this powerful approach to self-discovery and transformation.

In the field of Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy, Sean has achieved the designation of IFS Institute (IFS-I) Certified IFS Therapist and Approved IFS Clinical Consultant. In this capacity, he provides supervision to therapists of all training backgrounds seeking to integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) into their clinical work, and he mentors Level 1 IFS graduates as they work toward IFS certification. His work in Internal Family Systems Therapy extends beyond therapy sessions and his Melbourne office, as he actively contributes to the growth of the Internal Family Systems (IFS) community through being the founding secretary of the APS Internal Family Systems (IFS) Special Interest Group which provides high quality educational offerings and community to Psychologists and other mental health professionals.
